A dehumidifier keeps the air dry in your home or working environment, which can prevent moisture problems in your airbrush, air lines, filters and air compressor tanks. It will also prevent mould, damp and condensation in the room caused by the humid UK climate and the extra humidity that you've added into the air by spraying water-based paints.
We recommend using a purpose-built extractor/ventilation unit to remove the majority of overspray, particles and vapours immediately while working, along with a facemask for your respiratory health and safety. We recommend using the dehumidifier to keep the room dry before spraying and to dry the room again after spraying.
Which type of dehumidifier is right for your home or work space?
- Compressor dehumidifiers are suited to rooms over 16°C. The warmer the room, the more moisture they will remove from the air. They are lower cost to run than desiccant dehumidifiers because they do not need to do the work of heating the air before condensing the moisture.
- Desiccant dehumidifiers are suitable for rooms under 10°C, such as a cold workshop, utility room, cellar, garage or outbuilding. They have a small heater inside to warm the air before condensing the moisture. Air leaving the unit is 10-12°C warmer than room temperature, so it can help to take the chill of a cold workspace, but therefore costs more to run than a compressor dehumidifier.
- For cool spaces between 10°C and 16°C, you can choose between a large capacity compressor dehumidifier (20 or 25L) for lower running cost, or a desiccant dehumidifier for the added warmth. This is a trade-off depending on your requirements.
The 25 litres in the name of this product refers to the potential water collection rate per day, rather than the water tank size.

Always use the HEPA filter (included) and replace every 3 months at least, as necessary. Using the dehumidifier without the HEPA filter in an environment with residual paint overspray may invalidate your warranty.
