Under Piers’ expert guidance, you’ll learn the three essential airbrushing techniques—freehand, loose masking, and stencilling—forming the foundation for everything from hobby work to professional custom paint.
By the end of the day, you’ll not only understand your airbrush—you’ll be using it with purpose!

- Getting started with double-action airbrushing
- Choosing the right paints and compatible materials
- Preparing surfaces for the best results
- Tracing, scaling, and design layout

- Mastering freehand airbrushing techniques
- Combining hard and soft masking for dynamic designs
- Essential cleaning and maintenance skills

About Piers Dowell:
Piers Dowell has been Custom Painting since 1991. He started, as most painters did, just doing a few helmets for friends. This didn’t take long to turn into a steady stream and now he’s probably painted in excess of 5000. He has a number of full and part time employees working in a state-of-the-art facility at his home in Worcestershire. The mainstay of his work is still crash helmets for the Auto Sport industry. He is official painter for Stilo crash helmets in the UK and Ireland. His clients include Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Red Bull, Royalty, Demon Tweeks to Pirelli.
