The Airbrush Company presents a three-day class; Modeller's Airbrushing, with tutor Jason Lake (ex LSA Models).
Here you can book the Modeller's Beginning Airbrushing Step 1 (TC-JL0), the Modeller's Airbrushing Camouflage Step 2 (TC-JL1) and the Modeller's Weathering Step 3 (TC-JL2) courses as one complete class and save £20.
The airbrush skills taught on this class can be applied to all genres of modelling.

The first day is ideal for any model painter who wants to get started in airbrushing, or anyone who has problems getting started with their airbrush. Learn how to achieve the perfect finish on your models with an airbrush.
Course content (day 1):
- Introduction to airbrush & compressors their components setting up and operating
- Basic health and safety
- Preparation before painting
- Basic exercises on being in control
The second day is ideal for any model painter who wants to advance their airbrushing skills and learn how to airbrush camouflage schemes.
Course content (day 2):
- What are BSC, federal standard, RAL numbers and how do they work
- Discussion on different types of camouflage
- Where to start with camouflage schemes
- Preparation and masking
- Using primers
- Pre-shading

- Application of base colours
- Camouflage application
- Application of Markings using paint masks
- Applying Clear coats
The third day covers a variety of weathering techniques to take your models to the next level. Regardless of the type of modelling you do, whether it be Armour, Aircraft, Ships or Trains, this course will benefit your modelling immensely.
Course content (day 3):
- Discussion on weathering
- I-pad picture slide show
- What type of materials are available
- Paint chipping applications using salt / hairspray and masking fluid
- Using Washes
- Using Pigment powders
- Fading paint
The training room is fully equipped with the highest quality equipment available on the market - Iwata airbrushes and compressors.
What is provided:
- Students will be supplied with an airbrush, equipment and paint for the duration of the course
- Students will have the opportunity to buy airbrush equipment and paint on the day
- Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served during the course
You will also need:
- Model to work on – Jason recommends you bring some models that you are happy to try out the various techniques on that are being taught in the course:
- For Day 1 – scrap models will be fine to practice some of the techniques on are that shown during the class.
- For Day 2 - bring a built and primed only model.
- For Day 3 - bring a built and painted model with a clear gloss coat finishing.
- Accommodation - A list of local hotels and B&Bs will be sent with your booking confirmation.
- Lunch - Please bring a packed lunch.

Jason Lake has applied his technical knowledge to making models for pleasure, winning several awards for his work in local and national model exhibitions. Jason has turned this hobby into a profession, starting a hobby shop called LSA Models in Hove before taking semi-retirement to continue building commission works for various customers.
