Weathering Techniques for Railway Modellers Training Course - Mick Bonwick (31 Oct 2018)

The Airbrush Company presents a Weathering Techniques for Railway Modellers training course with Mick Bonwick.

Mick Bonwick

Mick Bonwick has been modelling railways for over 20 years and has been using an airbrush for the last 5 of those. Using skills learned at Missenden Abbey Railway Modellers weekends, which have subsequently been taught at Pendon Museum workshops, he has developed techniques for the realistic weathering of all aspects of railway modelling – rolling stock, buildings, track, road vehicles and scenery. He regularly demonstrates weathering, with hands-on opportunities for visitors, at the Great Electric Train Show each October at the British Motor Museum.

This course covers many aspects of using an airbrush for weathering model railways, from choosing appropriate equipment to applying the correct materials with relevant techniques.

This one-day Weathering course follows on well from Robin Carpenter's Modeller's Beginning Airbrushing Training Course (Step 1), which covers the basics of general airbrushing. Weathering Techniques for Railway Modellers can be attended as a class on its own and is aimed at modellers who want to advance their existing airbrushing skills and apply weathering techniques. For the airbrushing component of this class, we recommend you already have experience with the basic control of an airbrush.
